INTRINSIC MARLIN
Approximately 30’ x 15’ x 10’
Made of 120 pounds of Northstar’s amber purple glass that was hand pulled by Buck, this stunning, life size depiction of a marlin chasing a bait ball made up of over 100 sardines took almost eight years to complete and hangs suspended above the viewer. Like in nature, the bait ball spirals in a Fibonacci sequence while the life size, anatomically correct marlin swiftly attacks. This piece is one of the largest boro silicate sculptures ever created and is a monumental achievement for Buck as well as the glass community.
